School-based Mental Health
Evidence shows that providing behavioral health services within the school setting — where children spend a considerable amount of their time —increases access to needed mental health services; promotes earlier identification of and intervention for mental health needs; and fosters collaboration between mental health providers, school systems, and community stakeholders. The Center of Excellence’s school-based mental health portfolio is committed to fostering understanding of the impact of different models of school-based behavioral health. The center provides technical assistance to build community capacity to implement school-based programs and evaluation support for programmatic monitoring of school-based mental health programs in Georgia.
