Trauma-informed Care
There is growing recognition of the negative consequences of trauma on both physical and behavioral health. The trauma-informed care portfolio seeks to expand recognition of the signs and symptoms of trauma in patients, families, and staff. Trauma-informed care can be adopted at both the clinical and organizational levels. It involves integrating knowledge about trauma into policies, procedures, and service delivery, which will benefit patients, providers, and staff.
The Center of Excellence is actively delivering trainings, developing curriculum, and evaluating programs that will recognize and respond to the impact of trauma and traumatic stress on serving in and having contact with child-serving programs and systems.
