Mental Health Resiliency Support Clubhouses
Mental Health Resiliency Support Clubhouses
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) established the Resiliency Support Clubhouse Program in 2012 for children and youth with behavioral health needs. There are 13 Resiliency Support Clubhouses across Georgia, which are designed to support children and families coping with isolation, stigma, and other issues associated with mental health disorders. The clubhouses provide educational supports, employment services, peer support, family engagement, social activities, and other initiatives geared to engage youth and assist them in managing symptoms.
The Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health at the Georgia Health Policy Center has worked with DBHDD to develop a program vision and mission, a program model, and a revised evaluation plan. To facilitate data collection, the Center of Excellence team created an online data collection and dashboard tool to gather and report provider- and program-level data related to service utilization and consumer and family outcomes. Evaluation metrics include demographics of youth served, referral and discharge patterns, youth activity and enrollment patterns, school performance, juvenile justice involvement, youth mental health functioning, and engagement and satisfaction among youth and families. The goals of these dashboard tools are to support continuous quality improvement processes and decision-making based on current and representative provider data.
